We know that deciding to file for divorce isn’t an easy decision to make…After all, you thought the relationship would last forever when you got married, and you believed that nothing could break the trust and love that you had for each other. But if it’s time to start fresh, we can help you get through the divorce process so you can have peace of mind.

Protecting Your Legal Rights and Family Future

No two divorces are the same, just as no two couples are the same. Every spouse has unique needs, goals and priorities for the divorce agreement. At The Law Offices Of Leanne Perez., we take the time to meet with you one-on-one and get a clear picture of your needs and priorities. Once we understand your individual goals, we then push for a divorce agreement that fulfills them.

The divorce process will ultimately resolve a number of issues, such as:

  • How your assets and debts will be divided.
  • Who is awarded custody of the children or whether joint custody is a practical option.
  • What amount of child support should be paid and by which parent.
  • Whether spousal support (alimony) is appropriate, and if so, how much and for how long.
  • What type of parenting plan best fits your unique family situation.

Types of Divorce in Florida

Depending on your level of communication with your soon-to-be ex-spouse - and your ability to negotiate fairly - you may choose to seek a contested or an uncontested divorce. Your matter may qualify for our flat fee if your matter is "uncontested".

Uncontested Divorce

An uncontested divorce is a divorce in which both spouses agree to the terms regarding child support, alimony, child custody, time sharing, and distribution of assets and debts. No trial is necessary. The parties maintain control over the outcome over their case instead of turning over control of their case to a judge.

An uncontested divorce is less stressful and less time-consuming than a contested divorce, and as a result, it is less expensive.

Contested Divorce

A contested divorce is one in which the parties cannot reach agreement, in which case, their positions need to be argued before a judge. Contested divorces often involve various issues such as: timesharing (custody), child support, alimony, equitable distribution of assets and debts, property, etc.

This process often consists of serving one’s spouse with a petition, exchanging financials disclosures, attending mediation, and potentially attending several hearings and/or trial. The judge reviews the evidence and listens to the arguments of the lawyers, and decides on  division of property, alimony payments, and child custody matters.

Whether your divorce is contested or not, it benefits you to hire an experienced attorney who can make sure that all legal requirements are met, nothing is overlooked, and that your settlement is fair for all involved.

Up Front Pricing, No Hidden Fees. Low Down & Payment Plans

Not every divorce needs be expensive. If your case qualifies, your divorce can be completed quickly and inexpensively for a reduced flat fee. If you are looking for a reasonably-priced divorce with an experienced family law attorney, we may be able to help.

We present all of our prices up-front, and our clients won't have to worry about the possibility of any hidden fees in later date. We offer affordable flat fees with payment plan options.

Providing a flat rate allows clients to know beforehand the cost of a divorce so they can plan accordingly and not have to worry about what they will owe their attorney every month. While uncontested divorces are less complex, they still require the expertise of an attorney who will know how to prepare the necessary paperwork and progress the case through the court system in an efficient manner.

At The Law Offices of Leanne Perez, our Jacksonville divorce lawyer will work with you to handle your case in the most cost-effective manner possible, while still providing you high-quality legal advice and service.
